Speed skating is a fast paced and exihlerating sport that pushes the limits of your determination and makes you go faster than you thought you were capable of.

   It was the perfect idea for my magazine.

   I started skating later than most, and as much as I've already grown into this sport, there are probably other people who've been at this longer and are more passionnate than me. However, one thing that you might find in me more apt than most, is my curiosity for this sport.

   It is far older than I would've thought, since all I knew was that speed skating was invented in the Netherlands and assumed that it started somewhere around the 1900s. Now I realize it was much older than that! If you see my first article (p.3), then you can see for yourself. Another thing on the same page would be the rules and equipment if your are interested in knowing more about that too. My second and favorite artice, will show you how skating, and all sports in general have changed over the years and the surprising reason why (p.4)! And don't forget to see my new lazer sharpener if you too skate and are tired of old sharpening jigs (p.6)!

    I originally made this magazine to inform and enlighten my fellow skaters and I (also just to get the project over with). As much as they love skating, I'm sure they knew nothing more than I did concerning this sport's backround before these articles were written.

But that dosen't mean you have to close this tab and leave, because now I realize how interesting this article can be to you curious people out there. And I know you're out there! Keep reading these articles because this is an excellent sport with a gripping and long history that dates back to a millenium ago, and it never stops getting faster.
